After our first project, when we first had the idea to go into business installing and selling American clay, we drove to Santa Fe to meet the people. We knew that the products (at that time, only Loma and 12 colors) weren’t a fluke. The clear intention of founders Croft Elsaesser and Carol Baumgartel to create a “green” material that was an over-achiever was palpable. The epiphany for me was that Loma was gorgeous, a completely novel and stunning look and oh by the way, GREEN. Not only that—the artistic consequences of the clay products being a non-chemical set are astounding. After almost 6 years, we still find new artistic methods and directions on a daily basis.
