Process and Price

American Clay offers a variety of products that achieve different and specific gorgeous looks.

Original Process

The original two-coat process involves surface prep, a basecoat of Loma, then a finish coat and a finishing step. Finish coat is chosen to obtain a specific look/feel and can be any of the three different finish coat products (Loma, Porcelina, Marittimo) or a mixture. American Clay is ALWAYS finished by compression and can also involve other treatments, such as burnishing to obtain the desired look. Further, clay can be waxed or sealed. Hall’s Walls will happily supply color samples or sample boards for your collection or for a specific project.

Cost: Installation of the two-coat process costs between $3 to $7 per sq. ft., which includes materials.

Enjarre Process

Enjarre is the newest American Clay product line and the lowest price point. Enjarre, a one-coat process, is generally slightly thicker resulting in lower drywall costs. It can be specified for larger commercial or residential projects. Enjarre is an excellent choice for projects where a standard finish can serve, over a larger area, and where specific artistic details aren’t required. The shorter working time of Enjarre means “finish immediately.” Eight standard colors are available and custom colors are available at no additional price, provided the project is over 15,000 sq ft.

Cost: Enjarre costs begin at $2.50 per sq. ft., including materials.
